Former presidential candidate Éric Jean-Baptiste was shot and wounded on Monday by armed individuals near Carrefour-Feuilles.
The incident occurred at Carrefour-Feuilles (sanatorium) while the businessman was taking his children to school.
He was rushed to a hospital in the capital where he is currently being treated.
The new general secretary of the RDNP has been reached at the level of the arm and his life would be out of danger.
