U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) returned Saturday from a two-day trip to Haiti to observe the efforts to fight malnutrition and poverty in the country.
“On a quick trip to Haiti, I had the opportunity to get a first hand look at the outstanding work Dr. Mutter and Chattanooga based are doing in Haiti,” Senator Croker said in a Tweet.
Senator Corker, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, also met with Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant and Haitian government officials.
The United States Embassy described the meeting between the two men as excellent and cordial, without any further information on the content of this meeting.
