Haiti will be represented at the upcoming Winter Olympic Games scheduled for the South Korean city of Pyeong Chang. Haitian Born and Swiss Raise Skier Celine Marti (39) will compete in the Grand Slalom Category events.
“I have grown up in Switzerland and I am a police officer from Geneva, but I also have that connection inside to who I am as an Haitian,” Celine Marti said.
I'm very happy to represent the country at the Winter Olympic in South Korea and I deeply appreciate all the support and encouragement I have received from the Haitian community.”
The 2018 Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics are opening on Feb. 9, bringing athletes and spectators from around the world to South Korea’s Gangwon Province.
