July 16th is the day that the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel throughout the world. Mount Carmel is the mountain in the middle of the plain of Galilee on which the prophet Elijah called down a miracle of fire from the Lord, to show the people of Israel who had strayed that “The Lord is God!” and that the prophets of Baal were worshiping a false god.
in Haiti, thousands of celebrants from all over the country gathered this July 16, 2020 in the city affectionately nicknamed `` Ville Bonheur '', for the unavoidable celebration of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, patron of Saut-D'eau.

This popular festival which attracts several thousand pilgrims and curious people every year is an unmissable cultural event and an opportunity for believers, voodoo followers, to come and soak in the Great Leap which lends its name to the city. , for a bath of luck and various religious ceremonies.
The Ministry of Tourism also took the opportunity to distribute mufflers to pilgrims as part of the awareness raising against the COVID-19 pandemic.
