Fugees cancel reunion tour over COVID concerns

Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel have announced the long-awaited Fugees reunion tour has been officially canceled. The tour was intended to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1996 album The Score.
The trio previewed the would-be tour with a performance at Pier 17 in New York City in September 2021 where they performed “Ready or Not” for the first time in 15 years, and dates set to start in November were shared.
But, as the omicron variant assisted COVID-19 to surge in the early winter the shows were pushed to February. Now with the future uncertain, they’ve decided to scrap the event altogether.
“We anticipate and understand disappointment but our anniversary tour will not be able to happen,” the Fugees shared in a social media statement.
“The continued COVID pandemic has made touring conditions difficult, and we want to make sure we keep our fans and ourselves healthy and safe.” They continued to write, “We hope to be able to revisit this again sometime soon.”
