The National Identification Office and the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad have set up an identification card kiosk at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince.
“The small office will serve mainly Haitian who arrive from abroad and want to obtain a secure Identification Card, can go to the kiosk of the Airport to obtain this document,” Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad said in a press release.
Earlier this year, the National Identification Office announced that it would phase out the Haitian ID card long in circulation and no longer accept it as valid.
To obtain the new national ID card, Haitians living abroad must provide either a birth certificate, extract from the National Archives of Haiti or baptism certificate.
