
The 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup Preliminary Rounds will take place in July in Florida, with Haiti set to take on St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
A BFA spokesperson said, “Concacaf has confirmed that the 2021 Gold Cup Preliminary Rounds will take place from July 2-6, 2021, at the Inter Miami CF Stadium, in Florida.
“The twelve nations participating in the Preliminary Rounds have qualified through Concacaf Nations League matches, and compete for the final three available spots for the 2021 Gold Cup Group Stage.
“The draw which took place in October 2020, includes six match ups for the First Round, in which the winner of each match will progress to Round Two. The six match-ups are as follows:
Round One – July 2 and 3, 2021
Matchup 1: Haiti vs St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Matchup 2: Guatemala vs Guyana
Matchup 3: Trinidad and Tobago vs Monserrat
Matchup 4: Cuba vs French Guiana
Matchup 5: Guadeloupe vs Bahamas
Matchup 6: Bermuda vs Barbados
“The six winners will progress to a second round and will play as follows:
Round Two – July 6, 2021
Matchup 7: Winner Matchup 1 vs Winner Matchup 6
Matchup 8: Winner Matchup 2 vs Winner Matchup 5
Matchup 9: Winner Matchup 3 vs Winner Matchup 4
“The 3 winning nations of Round 2 will advance to the Group Stage of the 2021 Gold Cup. They will be drawn into the Group Stage as follows.
Group A: Mexico, El Salvador, Curacao, and Winner Prelims 9
Group B: USA, Canada, Martinique, and Winner Prelims 7
Group C: Costa Rica, Jamaica, Suriname, and Winner Prelims 8
Group D: Honduras, Panama, Grenada, and Qatar.
The Trinidad-Montserrat, Cuba-French Guiana winner joins Mexico, El Salvador and Curaçao in Group A. The Guatemala-Guyana, Guadeloupe-Bahamas winner joins Costa Rica, Jamaica and Suriname in Group C.
