Haitians working and living abroad are now sending home more cash than a decade earlier, money sent by the diaspora grew to $3,2 billion in 2018.
Haiti would have received transfers estimated at nearly 37% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) during the last 12 moths.
That is 37% of all the wealth produced in Haiti. An amount that is 3 times higher than exports, 10 times tourism revenues and twice the revenues of the Haitian government.
