Gracia Delva implicated in a kidnapping and ransom case
August 1, 2019
Haiti National Police sources say an investigation into several kidnappings by gang leader Arnel Joseph, reveals that during one of the kidnappings the gang leader was in contact with senator Garcia Delva.
Senator Gracia Delva is implicated in a kidnapping and ransom case where his neighbor was abducted and the wife of the abducted man was forced to pay $110,000 [USD] for his release.
The abduction of Senator Delva's next door neighbor, a trader, and two others, was committed on March 14, 2019 in Port-au-Prince.
The victim, originally from Leogane, was first taken to the "Village of God" at the southern entrance to the capital. The area has been the stronghold of the gang controlled by Arnel Joseph.
The victim was moved to Marchand-Dessalines, Artibonite, at some point during his capture, reports Pierre Espérance of the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH).
