The United States government expressed its concern on Monday about the current political and human rights situation that the Haitian people are experiencing.
The U.S. ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield “expressed her deep concern about the current political stalemate in Haiti, the lack of accountability for human rights abuses and the deteriorating security situation,” the U.S. mission to the UN said in a statement.
“Preparations for the June 27 constitutional referendum have not yet been transparent or comprehensive enough,” according to the U.S. mission press office.
